Rich Moccia

Rich has been diving since 1970, years before the retreat of glaciers over North America!  He has been an active recreational and working ‘science’ diver for over 44 years, with extensive diving experience in a variety of freshwater and marine environments, in both warmwater and coldwater conditions.  As an aquatic scientist, Rich has spent most of his adult life around the Great Lakes, and has used scuba in a variety of underwater tasks.  He mainly enjoys the pleasure of recreational diving, with wreck diving and coral reef, ‘fish watching’ being among his favorite experiences.

With a long dive history, Rich has learned that there is never an end to the need for both formal and experiential learning in the sport of scuba.  He ranks safety as his number one priority for all dive planning.

In the rest of his spare time, Rich is an avid boater, hockey player, motorcyclist, back country trekker and community volunteer.

Favourite Type of Diving
